Research to develop screening tests for ovarian cancer is ongoing. A pap smear can screen for cervical cancer but not ovarian cancer. It is important to pay attention to any symptoms you’re experiencing that may indicate the presence of ovarian cancer, including:
- Abdominal swelling or bloating
- Pelvic pressure or pain
- Difficulty eating/feeling full early
- Frequent/sudden urination
These symptoms can indicate other less serious problems. If you’re noticing them daily for more than a few weeks and other conditions are not diagnosed, see your physician.
